Boo

I know people sometimes wonder what in the world I manage to find to do with myself that I don't have time to make more than one entry in a week...So, I thought I would show you ONE of the ways I find to spend my time. This is a picture I took last Sunday. I didn't get any that were exactly what I wanted, but I decided to play with this particular one in my photo editing software, and I was pleased with the results.....

So, you have all seen pictures of Morgan, the spoiled Corgi... and D.K, the cat Princess... but I have never posted a picture of Boo.

Preview

Boo is 14 years old and I actually helped his mother deliver him. He has lived with me since he was 6 months old, when I purchased him from the people who owned his mother. Boo is an Arabian horse with an impressive pedigree... which he cares nothing about <g>. He often follows me around the barn where I board him much like a dog would. His favorite treats are carrots and these little horse treats I get him that are peppermint flavored. He is as spoiled in his own way as my dog and cat are. I visit him each evening when I get off from work, and he recognizes my truck and meets me at the place where I throw his hay over and give him his evening treats. Sunday is my day to feed all of the animals at the barn so the man who boards Boo can have a day off to spend with his family and attending church. I think Boo looks forward to Sundays because that is the day that I spend the most time with him. Since G. works on Sundays, I am free to spend a good portion of my day at the barn.

Hope you all enjoyed my attempt at Photoshop Magic!

Oh, I see -  you get featured on the main journal page and all of a sudden you get the urge to post?  LOL - glad you're staying busy enough that you don't have time for the puter.  I keep hoping that I'll get a life some day :-)

Such a face!  Those eyes, oh I am in love.  Horses have the most beautiful, soulful, deep eyes, and your Boo is heavenly.  You are so lucky...for as long as I can remember I've wanted a horse...maybe someday...  :)

I can admire the beauty of horses --- from a distance.  They kinda scare me.  But I dig the name "Boo"!  ;)    Russ

I think what you're telling us is... you have a life!  Do you ride Boo every time you visit him?

We used to have a horse but sold her a few years ago.  I do miss her!  Boo is beautiful!

Aw you know Im partial to anyone named 'BOO' That's my Puppy's name and a member of our family has a horse ranch near by so I spend a lot of time there, who knew I wouldn't mind cleaning out stalls, I love the smell of the hay in the barn...happy place for me as well!

He's a very pretty horse if it's okay to call a male horse pretty.  I'd be spending as much time with him as I could, not for riding, just for company!

Great picture! You know I have never truly been horseback riding and one day I hope to! I do love horses!

I hate to say it ... but this Boo person ... well ... how do I put it gently? ... kinda looks like a horse.
 What was that?
 It IS a horse?

Well, never mind.

I imagine a horse can take a great deal of time. They're a huge responsibility and need lots of care. No one would fault you for spending so much time with him. He's very pretty. You're so lucky!

What a beautiful horse...so interesting, you've made me think about my experience with horses, nothing is more important in my state (with the exception of basketball, maybe), and I grew up around them, but I just realized that my daughter has never even ridden a horse.  I wonder how that happened?  Anyway, sounds like your Sundays are just wonderful!

I sometimes go a month or more without an entry. Then suddenly poems start popping into my head from out of nowhere. I don't know how or why it works that way.

Wow!  That brought back memories.  I had horses years ago.  Today I'm disabled and wouldn't even attempt to get on a horse, but still think they're a beautiful animal!

I had lots of quarter horses.  I had a little Palomino stallion named Peppy.  I taught him to nod his head for a carrot.  Man, did I create a monster.  He'd be way down at the far end of the meadow and see me come outside.  He'd come flying down to the fence, then stand there nodding his head so hard you could hear his bottom lip slap shut! lol

Great photo!

That is a wonderful portait you created of Boo, who is also a very beautiful or should I say handsome horse.  I'll bet you're having a blast with your Photoshop, I had to choose between Photoshop and Paintshop... oh the dilemma!  I've had Paintshop for a couple of months now and haven't even begun to tap into the endless possibilities.

Funny thing...Buddy doesn't give 2 rips about his registration papers, either.  I guess it goes to show that egotism only exists in humans (oh yeah, and cats!)

Enjoyed it very much!  What a gorgeous horse!  Animals are such a wonderful part of life.  I just wish we could have more than one cat, my oldest son is highly allergic!  He wouldn't hear of getting rid of the cat so we try to keep things condusive to us all.

What a beautiful picture of your "boo". I love working in my PSP (a photo shop). It does take up a lot of time...doesn't it?

I am so envious. I had an Arab named Runaway from the time I was fourteen until I was twenty...I had to sell him when I could not longer support him and my little sister at the same time. Arabs are such special horses...they are so smart and sensitive.
